Japarov added: "Despite all these achievements, the 'Unnaa' reform stands on par with them. A tremendous amount of work has been done over the past five years, and these are just the main directions. The reform related to 'Unnaa' has a direct impact on human life, which is the most important wealth of our state. We all know the statistics on fatalities from traffic accidents, and the situation remains serious."
The president also emphasized that the number of traffic accident victims exceeds the number of those killed in combat operations.
He stressed the need for urgent measures: "If we do not start reforms now, the situation will only worsen year by year. We need to endure a little and bring order to the industry. Of course, it will not be possible to achieve an ideal state immediately, but the system will improve over time. The results of the reform will not be visible instantly; their fruits will manifest in 50-60 years when the generation that has been buying driver's licenses for three decades is gone, and only the youth, who undergo training for ten months, and children who will start their training in September, will remain."
"This will take time, but if we introduce strict rules and carry out the necessary reforms, the system will stabilize, and the statistics will improve. Mortality will decrease, and then society will be able to appreciate these changes. I urge citizens to support these transformations and approach them with understanding," concluded Japarov.
He also apologized to the owners of closed driving schools. The president added: "I do not pursue personal interests; this concerns our common future. There have been cases where employees who processed documents for money themselves lost loved ones due to traffic accidents involving drivers who bought licenses. This has become a sign from the Almighty for these employees. Therefore, I recommend they consider changing their field of activity," the president summarized.
