A team of international experts in road safety and transport reforms has expressed its support for the President of Kyrgyzstan. This statement was made in response to the tragic news of the death of three of his relatives in a traffic accident.

Experts noted that the open discussion of such tragic events by the president is a manifestation of courage and political maturity. It emphasizes that road safety is not just statistics, but the fates of people.

David Meskhishvili, President of the Eurasian Vehicle Inspection Network (EVIN), confirmed full support for the implementation of the Vision Zero concept ("Zero Fatalities") in Kyrgyzstan. This approach is based on the principle that no life should be lost for the sake of mobility.

Experts believe that the implementation of transparent digital control and monitoring systems can significantly reduce the number of accidents. They cited Georgia as an example, where the modernization of the vehicle inspection system and the introduction of modern standards have led to a 25 percent reduction in fatalities and injuries from traffic accidents.

The international group is ready to share its knowledge and experience with government institutions in Kyrgyzstan to ensure the safety of citizens and the sustainable development of transport infrastructure.

In Kyrgyzstan, by presidential decree, the licenses of all private driving schools have been suspended until August 2026, with training to be conducted only in state institutions. Additionally, the training duration in these institutions has been extended to 10 months. Starting in September 2026, driving lessons and traffic rules are planned to be included in the school curriculum.
