The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns of avalanche danger on the mountain roads of Kyrgyzstan

According to information from Kyrgyzhydromet, from February 7 to 9, there is a risk of avalanches in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan and on several roads. This warning is directed at drivers traveling on certain routes.

The agency reports that due to snowfall and upcoming precipitation, there is a high likelihood of snow avalanches, snow drifts, and icy conditions. The most dangerous sections include: Bishkek – Osh (121–138 km at the Too-Ashuu Pass; 198–255 km at the Ala-Bel Pass and Chychkan Gorge), Ala-Buka – Kanysh-Kiya (65–110 km), Krasnaya Gorka – Ak-Tash (0–3 km), Myrza-Ake – Kara-Kulja – Alaykuu (65–101 km), and Karakol – Enilchek (45–90 km at the Chon-Ashuu Pass).

The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges all drivers to exercise caution when traveling through potentially dangerous areas and to maintain a safe distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
