In Cholpon-Ata, the foundation for a new building intended for the environmental service has been laid. Currently, there are 43 people working in the regional office for the Issyk-Kul region, which is part of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.

Previously, employees engaged in environmental protection worked in an old dilapidated building that had been used by various departments for five decades. Due to its deteriorated condition, there was a need for a new office. Starting today, the construction of a modern complex for ecologists in Cholpon-Ata begins.

The new office will be two stories high and will include all necessary amenities. The total cost of the project is 79 million soms, with funding provided by the ministry. The building will feature offices for employees, a meeting room, reception areas for citizens, and modern laboratories.

“The total area of the new building will be 930 square meters, and it is expected to be commissioned in September of this year. The work is being carried out in accordance with modern standards, and the quality is strictly monitored,” said Melis Muratov, Deputy Head of the Regional Office for the Issyk-Kul region.

“In recent years, the responsibility of the region's ecologists has increased. Currently, efforts are being made to combat illegal fishing and hunting, retrieve nets from the bottoms of lakes, and ensure environmental protection and technical safety. These measures are already showing results. We expect that after the new building is launched, the efficiency of the employees' work will significantly increase,” added foreman Sapar Omurgaziev.
