The Deputy Director of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of Bishkek, Abdyzhaparkul Janbolotov, explained in an interview on "Birinchi Radio" the reasons why the repair of the bridge on Jibek Jolu Avenue, at the intersection with Osmonkula and Torekula Aitmatova streets, will only begin in the fall of 2025.

Janbolotov noted that the construction of three bridges is planned for 2025, including projects on Shukurava and Auezov streets, as well as on Jibek Jolu.

“If we started all three bridges at the same time, it would create serious problems for the movement of both residents and guests of the capital. We have already closed Kurmandzhan Datka Street from Jibek Jolu to Chuy. If we also closed the bridge on Jibek Jolu, it would lead to chaos, so we decided to start repairs specifically in September,” he added.

He also reported that the concrete work will be completed by December. “Currently, the concrete is gaining the necessary strength. Last week we invited laboratory technicians to check it, but unfortunately, it has not yet reached the required strength. This does not allow us to open the street for traffic. Unlike asphalt, which can be repaired, the bridge must serve for a long time. If we opened it in winter and the concrete began to settle, cracks would appear, and we would be criticized,” Janbolotov explained. “Next week we will start laying curbs, and asphalt paving, weather permitting, is scheduled for late February to early March,” he added.

Earlier, deputy Ulukbek Karybek uulu appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers for official clarifications regarding the prolonged repair of the bridge on Jibek Jolu Avenue, which has been closed since September 28. According to him, after almost six months, the work has still not been completed, causing traffic jams and complicating the movement of citizens.
