Mayor of Bishkek: The new plant processes 1,200 tons of waste per day
A meeting of the Environmental Council was held at the sanitary landfill in Bishkek, during which public hearings were organized. The location for the discussion was chosen at the eco-technology plant, which processes solid household waste and generates electricity. The event was attended by the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, and representatives of city structures.

The head of the capital emphasized that the choice of the venue for the meeting was made to familiarize participants with the plant's operations on-site.

According to the mayor, the plant is capable of processing up to 1,200 tons of waste per day. Its output reaches 30 megawatts of electricity, with a stable production of 27–29 megawatts currently, which is particularly relevant given the energy shortage in the capital.

The total investment in the construction of the plant amounted to 98 million dollars.

Aibek Junushaliev also noted that environmental standards established by the European Union and China are being followed in the design and operation of the plant, with the requirements from the Chinese side being stricter.

Currently, the plant employs 80 specialists from China and 34 local workers. The training of Kyrgyz staff took place at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razakov, which helped create a foundation for further work at the site.

The mayor also summarized the results of the previous meeting of the Environmental Council, noting that one of the tasks was the active greening of the city. Instead of the planned 15,000 trees, 18,000 trees were planted in the capital. Additional plantings were carried out at the request of residents in the areas of educational institutions and public places.

It is planned that 50,000 trees will be planted in 2026. Initially, the seedlings will be grown in nurseries and then transplanted into the city.
