As of today, there are 1567 buses operating on routes in Bishkek. An additional purchase of 625 new 8-meter models is planned. This was reported by Ulanbek Beyshenbaev, the director of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of the capital's mayor's office.

According to Beyshenbaev, among the operating buses, 350 units are 12-meter models, while the rest are 10.5-meter models. These buses are classified as high-capacity, which is relevant for urban routes at this time.

Regarding the 95 new Yutong buses, he noted that they are currently undergoing customs clearance. After receiving registration numbers, the buses will be put into service.

Ulanbek Beyshenbaev also reported that the process of purchasing new buses and conducting the tender will be carried out in accordance with current legislation.

“All stages will be conducted strictly within the framework of the law. We are currently monitoring prices and the technical condition of the buses. As previously mentioned, the new buses should be equipped with air conditioning and provide comfort for people with disabilities,” he added.
