In Batken, in the Chett-Bulak area, there is a shortage of public transport.

According to local residents, there are only three buses operating in the city, which, despite the frequency of their routes, cannot cope with the flow of passengers. This problem has been discussed for a long time, but no new buses have appeared in the city.

“The situation becomes especially critical with the start of the school year. In the morning, schoolchildren head to educational institutions, while adults go to work. If you’re lucky, you can get on a bus, but otherwise, you have to wait for the next one, which may come only after half an hour. As a result, students and working people often arrive late. At any time of the day, whether it’s morning, afternoon, or evening, there are clearly not enough buses,” says Adina Musaeva, a resident of Chett-Bulak.

There are only six buses in the city: three serve the Chett-Bulak neighborhood, while the other three serve the Kyzyl-Zhol neighborhood. To solve the problem, additional vehicles need to be purchased.

“Yes, the problem exists. We cannot provide a sufficient number of buses. This year, we plan to purchase new buses with funds from the Development Fund. If our plan is approved, we will also introduce new routes. The shortage of transport is caused by population growth,” noted Asan Amanbaev, director of the municipal enterprise “Batken-Autobaza.”

More than 1,000 families live in the Chett-Bulak neighborhood, and most schoolchildren travel to Batken for their education.
