The Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation is completing restoration work in its building after a recent fire. The press service of the Ministry of Health reported this event.

The director of the institute, Jalil Sheishenov, noted that the repair work is in the final stages, and within the next 10 days, the team plans to return to their usual working conditions.

Despite the challenges faced, the institution continues to actively perform its functions. Over the past month, 52 open-heart surgeries and 56 angiographic procedures were conducted. The institute's specialists have also intensified their outreach consulting services, conducting 16 consultations in maternity hospitals and perinatal centers, which significantly exceeds the results of previous months.

The focus on modern treatment methods remains a priority. In the last month, five minimally invasive surgeries were performed using mini-thoracotomy, as well as surgeries for patients with severe cardiovascular diseases, including newborns.

Temporarily, the institute has organized regular CT diagnostics for complex congenital heart defects, which are conducted on Saturdays at the National Center for Cardiology and Transplantation. One EchoCG machine has also been installed at the National Center. The diagnostic service has been strengthened, and the work of the consulting and diagnostic department has been optimized, which has helped reduce waiting times among patients, including children with congenital heart defects.

According to the director, after returning to the main building, further development of high-tech cardiac surgical care is planned, along with improvements in the accessibility of consultations and the professional development of medical personnel.
