Recently, a video was posted on social media showing queues in the clinical diagnostic department of the OICCH.
According to the hospital director, Zhyrgalbek Tolorov, such situations most often arise after weekends and holidays when the number of patients needing outpatient care and consultations with narrow specialists sharply increases. For example, today there were 600 outpatient visits recorded, while the day before, on January 12, about 800 children passed through the clinical diagnostic department.
Despite this, the hospital has sufficient resources to organize scheduled appointments: there are 18 medical offices, three registration desks, two cash offices, and two terminals. In the morning hours, queues may form at the registration desk due to the issuance of tickets; however, by 11:00 AM, the situation stabilizes, and queues are generally not observed.
The director noted that one of the main problems is that many parents go directly to the hospital without receiving referrals from local doctors at family medicine centers. The Osh Interregional Children's Clinical Hospital is intended to provide assistance at the tertiary level, and its clinical diagnostic department is not designed for primary visits without prior routing.
In addition to the work of the clinical diagnostic department, specialized services such as the trauma center, ENT department, surgical, and intensive care units also provide care at the institution, allowing for effective distribution of patients by profile.
Zhyrgalbek Tolorov emphasized that despite the high workload, medical staff do not refuse assistance to children: everyone who seeks help receives the necessary consultation and treatment.
The Ministry of Health urges parents to follow routing procedures and first visit their local pediatricians at family medicine centers to avoid queues and receive timely referrals if necessary.
