According to the Ministry of Health, Matkerimov familiarized himself with how medical assistance is organized for patients suffering from acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, and assessed the current occupancy of the hospital beds due to the seasonal increase in morbidity.
The director of the medical institution, Shayat Abdurakhmanov, noted that the infectious diseases hospital is designed for 270 beds: of these, 180 are intended for children, while the remaining are for adults. During the seasonal rise in patient visits, there is an increase in the number of patients; however, everyone receives the necessary medical assistance in full.
It should be noted that in recent years, including due to the administrative-territorial reform, both the area and the population of the city of Osh have increased, which significantly raises the burden on medical institutions and leads to temporary high occupancy of hospitals.
After the visit, Matkerimov issued a number of instructions, including the organization of adult patient admissions in alternative departments, and the infectious diseases hospital should be maximally utilized to provide assistance to children, who are the most vulnerable group during seasonal infections.
In addition, it was instructed to strengthen control over compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards, ensure clear routing of patients, uninterrupted operation of medical staff, and quality control of the provided assistance.
