As part of a working trip to the regions, Aibek Matkerimov, the First Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, conducted an inspection of the infectious diseases hospital at the Osh City Clinical Hospital. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.

The main goal of this visit was to study the conditions of medical care for patients suffering from acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, as well as to assess the occupancy of the hospital beds due to the increase in morbidity during the seasonal period.

During the visit, the director of the medical institution, Shayat Abdurakhmanov, reported that the infectious diseases hospital has a capacity of 270 beds, of which 180 are designated for children, and the remaining for adults. With the increase in the number of patients, there has been a rise in requests for help; however, medical assistance is being provided to all those in need in full.

Furthermore, in recent years, including due to administrative reform, there has been an increase in the territory and population of the city of Osh, which creates additional burdens on medical institutions and temporarily leads to high occupancy rates in hospitals.

As a result of the inspection, Aibek Matkerimov instructed to organize the admission of adult patients in alternative departments, in order to maximize the use of the infectious diseases hospital for providing assistance to children, who are the most vulnerable group during seasonal infections.

It was also ordered to strengthen control over compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards, establish clear routing for patients, ensure the uninterrupted operation of medical personnel, and monitor the quality of the provided assistance.
