Border with Tajikistan: resettlement of citizens has been completed in Batken region
All resettlement activities planned after the demarcation of the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan must be completed by the end of 2025.

According to 24.kg, citing the presidential envoy in the Batken region, land plots have been allocated for the construction of new settlements to relocate the population from border areas. As a result, 257 residential houses have been built.

Batken District

In the Batken district, in the Chyet-Bulak area, which belongs to the village of Buzhum, a new village has been established on an area of 57 hectares. Here, 181 houses have been built, accommodating residents from the villages of Dostuk and Dobo, as well as from the Kok-Terek and Mazeittin jeri areas, and Teskey.

“Each house is equipped with everything necessary for comfortable living. The village has electricity, drinking water supply systems, and sewage systems. Additionally, 10 kilometers of roads have been laid. Currently, a school for 150 students and a kindergarten for 50 children are under construction,” the envoy's office reported.

Leilek District

In the Leilek district, for residents of border areas, 60 residential houses have been built in the village of Razzakov on a plot of 11.19 hectares, and 16 houses have been constructed in the village of Maksat on an area of 44.05 hectares.

According to the envoy's office, the new houses have been occupied by residents from Nurmatov and Zhanibaev streets in the village of Razzakov, as well as residents from the Sada area and the village of Maksat. Infrastructure work has been completed in the new villages, and the construction of a kindergarten is ongoing.

Resettlers have also received compensation for the loss of agricultural buildings and perennial crops. In the Batken district, 139 people received 1 million soms each, while 173 received 500,000 soms. In the Leilek district, 21 citizens received 500,000 soms, and 63 received 1 million soms.

For these expenses, 225 million 500 thousand soms have been allocated from the republican budget for the administration of the Batken district and 73 million 500 thousand for the administration of the Leilek district.

Additionally, as a result of the border clarification agreement, Tajikistan transferred 214 residential houses to Kyrgyzstan in the Sughd region. The inventory of these properties has been completed, and in the future, some of them will be transferred to residents of border villages.

There is also an expectation for the distribution of agricultural lands in the Leilek and Batken districts. It was previously reported that farmers in the region are demanding an expedited issuance of land due to the start of fieldwork.

The agreement on the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was signed on February 21, 2025, in Bishkek following negotiations between government delegations. At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the then chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, detailed the agreements reached and the exchanged plots.
