Week-24. In Kyrgyzstan, mining farms have been shut down and schools have been limited in power consumption
In Kyrgyzstan, a strict energy-saving regime is being introduced, affecting educational institutions and government agencies. After the end of the workday, these organizations must completely turn off electricity in their buildings. Exceptions are made for engineering systems and equipment necessary for the preservation and functioning of the buildings. Authorities have also proposed closing cafes and nightclubs after 10:00 PM, although the connection of this measure to the noise law raises questions, as the latter does not foresee the closure of entertainment establishments.

Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev announced the complete shutdown of all mining farms in the country. "In conditions of electricity shortage, a decision was made to disconnect all mining farms. I am personally monitoring this issue," he noted in an interview with 24.kg. The minister also talked about who and how was engaged in mining in Kyrgyzstan and what measures are being taken to save electricity.

The regulation of meat prices in Kyrgyzstan has been extended until December 31, 2025. It is reported that this is done to prevent further price increases and stabilize the situation in the meat market (beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat). Recall that state regulation was introduced on August 11 for a period of 90 days.

Prices under state regulation:

Important: regulation does not apply to boneless meat, such as fillet.
This week, Kamchybek Tashiev, head of the State Committee for National Security, expressed dissatisfaction with the rise in meat prices, pointing out that the government decree on price control is not being effectively implemented. He noted that in some markets, the price of meat can reach 800-900 soms per kilogram, while there are sellers offering it for 700-750 soms. According to the government decree, the maximum price should not exceed 680-700 soms.

"I listen to the people, I visit the markets. Suppliers sell meat for 450-500 soms per kilogram, while sellers inflate the price almost twofold. Yes, it may be possible to add 50-100 soms and sell for 600 soms. But 800-900 soms is speculation," he stated. Additionally, Kamchybek Tashiev emphasized that price control should be carried out by the Antimonopoly Service and local authorities. He added that failure to comply with government price requirements will be considered a direct responsibility of regional and city leaders.
