A large resettlement project for residents from border areas has been completed in the Batken region. All families that were supposed to move have already settled into their new homes by November 29.
76 new houses and happy resettlers
The Akim of the Leilek District, Jenishbek Asylbek, shared the news with 24.kg, noting that the resettlers are very satisfied with the conditions provided to them in the new settlement, which has been named the "VIP village".
According to the Akim, "The mood among the resettlers is excellent; they are happy. Previously, they lived in old houses without amenities, but now everything is new — with utilities (toilet, shower). The roads are paved, and a kindergarten and sports ground are being built. This is truly a VIP village for the residents."

As part of the project, 76 houses were built: 60 in the new settlement in Razakovo and 16 in the upper part of the village of Maksat.

The resettlement of residents from border areas was the result of a large-scale land exchange between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, presented a detailed report on the exchange to the parliament on February 27. The final border agreement was signed by the presidents of both countries, Sadyr Japarov and Emomali Rahmon, on March 13, 2025, in Bishkek.
Incomplete solutions: problems with water and sewage
Akim Jenishbek Asylbek also noted that all infrastructure work will be completed soon, and support will continue: "We have drilled a well for water supply and are currently laying pipes to each house. This should be completed within a week."

"The issue with sewage has not been fully resolved yet, but funds have already been allocated, and we plan to address this within a week. Electricity has been connected, the roads have been paved, and there are no more serious problems," the Akim added.
Compensations: amounts of payments
The district authorities reported that the issue of compensations has been resolved, and funds have already been allocated.
"The compensation amount is mainly 1 million soms. For those who had gardens or extensions, 1 million soms is provided, while for others — 500 thousand. Mostly, 90-95 percent received 1 million," noted Jenishbek Asylbek.
These funds are intended to assist in the construction of utility blocks and the organization of gardens.

In addition, each family received 10 bags of coal as part of support from the state enterprise "Kyrgyzkomur". The district administration is considering the possibility of providing an additional 5 bags of coal.
"The state is taking all necessary measures to create the best conditions for citizens. Other districts are noticing this as well," emphasized Jenishbek Asylbek.
