In the Batken region, the number of people needing hemodialysis due to worsening kidney conditions has approached 200. This information was provided by doctors during a conversation with a Turmush correspondent.

According to medical specialists, this figure has been showing an annual increase.

There are only five hemodialysis centers operating in the region:

in the Leilek district — 1

 in Batken — 1

in the Kadamjay district — 2

 in Kyzyl-Kiya — 1.

These centers carry out the process of blood purification for patients with kidney failure using specialized equipment, which allows for the removal of toxins and excess fluid, as well as providing constant medical monitoring.

Previously, many patients had to travel to Bishkek or Osh for treatment, so the opening of new medical facilities in the Leilek and Kadamjay districts has significantly improved the situation. Now patients can undergo the necessary procedures directly in their area. The center in Kyzyl-Kiya also accepts patients from the neighboring districts of Nookat and Aravan.

Doctors explain the increase in kidney diseases by several factors, including diabetes, irregular blood pressure monitoring, and poor nutrition.
