In his opinion, the second driver may be connected to influential figures.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Seidbek Atambaev shared information about an alleged attempt to conceal a traffic violation by one of the participants in the accident.
According to Atambaev, Burul Ibraimova, a resident of the Alamudun district, approached him and asked him to take control of the investigation into the incident that occurred on February 23. She noted signs of pressure from high-ranking officials and possible concealment of evidence.
The incident occurred at the intersection of 7 April and Ablesov streets, where Ibraimova's daughter, driving a Honda Fit, was entering the highway at a speed of about 40 km/h. At that moment, a Lexus, driven by an 18-year-old girl, crashed into her car at high speed.
According to the deputy, the traffic police officers who arrived at the scene did not call an ambulance, despite the fact that the victim sustained a head injury and was suffering from severe bleeding. Relatives called an ambulance, which arrived at the scene only after 2.5 hours. As a result of the medical examination, the victim was hospitalized and now requires serious treatment.
Atambaev also reported that according to the victim's mother, police officers, along with relatives of the second participant in the accident, were pressuring her, persuading her not to document the incident.
There are cameras installed on this section of the road as part of the "Safe City" system and hardware-software complexes of the village administration. However, at the public prevention point of the Alamudun district, they claim that the cameras were not working at the time of the accident. The victims believe this may indicate an attempt to conceal the fact of speeding.
According to available information, the second participant in the accident is the sister of the akim of the Alamudun district, and their father is a deputy of the Bishkek city council.
"Given such connections, there are grounds to believe that the investigation may be biased. The victim works as an assistant to a child with disabilities. Her relatives do not deny the importance of an objective investigation into the circumstances of the incident, but they insist on determining the degree of fault of the second driver, as the possible speeding in a populated area led to serious consequences," the deputy concluded.
