Bayaly Sarkulov, a resident of the village of Sadovoye in the Moscow district of Chuy region, shared the history of his village.

According to his information, the village of Sadovoye was founded about 200 years ago. From 1850 to 1990, it was known as Chochkolu. As a result of a recent administrative-territorial reform, the rural districts of Sadovoye, Alexandrovka, and Sretenka were merged, and now this place is called Min-Bulak, with the administrative center in Sadovoye, where 34,622 people live. Local residents reacted differently to the name change: some supported it, while others expressed protest. Ultimately, it was decided to keep the name Min-Bulak rural district.

Sarkulov also noted that the village is located along the main road Bishkek–Kara-Balta and neighbors Belovodsk and Alexandrovka. “Sadovoye has more than 10,600 residents representing 36 nationalities. Most of them are engaged in agriculture and livestock breeding. There are two secondary schools, one private school, a kindergarten, a House of Culture, three mosques, and a social housing complex where 67 families live. The recent changes in the administrative-territorial structure prompted us to study the history of our small homeland more closely,” he added.

According to some data, from 1850 to 1900, Sadovoye served as a winter encampment (“kyshtoo”) for Cholponkul bi, the brother of Baytik Baatyr. In the 1870s, farmers from Ukraine began to settle here. Later, when Dungans from China started arriving in the village, Cholponkul bi transferred these lands to them. Initially, about 30 Dungans settled here, and the land was marshy and overgrown with reeds. Due to the large number of wild boars, the area was named Chochkolu.

During the Soviet era, particularly in the early 1930s, trees began to be planted in the village, which led to the emergence of the new name — Sadovoye. Although this version is widespread among local residents, it holds significant historical importance,” concluded Bayaly Sarkulov.
