On the radio "Birinchi Radio," Maria Kushubakova, a sanitary doctor from the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, expressed her opinion on school uniforms.

Earlier, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev proposed to ease the requirements for school clothing, noting that in most educational institutions, the focus is on the uniform rather than the content. He appealed to the Ministry of Education and the government with a proposal to allow schools to independently review the requirements for school clothing. In response, he was informed that a classic style of clothing contributes to the formation of discipline and reduces social differences among students.

Kushubakova emphasized that the style of school clothing should be businesslike and secular. "This is necessary since we are a secular state, and the uniform should not draw attention to religious symbols or affiliation with informal groups. There should be no provocative elements, such as torn jeans. School uniforms should imply a business style: shirts, suits, trousers, or skirts," she noted.

According to the opinions of parents and students, many would prefer a more relaxed style of clothing instead of a uniform.

"At school, kids dress differently. In modern youth trends, there is a boho style that includes wide trousers and hoodies. This does not promote proper posture in children. Clothing affects self-esteem, gait, and the psychological state of both students and adults. If the clothing matches your style, it creates a sense of comfort and positively affects your mood. Therefore, parents should not be forced to choose a specific type of clothing, but they should understand the importance of this choice," Kushubakova added.

She also noted that there are currently no strict requirements for clothing from the state.

"The key issue remains the choice of fabrics for clothing. This is indeed a significant problem. Parents often choose less expensive options, which often leads to the purchase of clothing made from synthetic materials, while we always emphasize the need for natural fabrics such as cotton, wool, and viscose. Although natural materials are currently more expensive, their importance for children's health cannot be overstated. Children feel comfortable in natural clothing, which allows them to focus on their studies. If clothing causes discomfort, it can distract and irritate. Additionally, some synthetic fabrics can cause allergic reactions," she added.

Kushubakova also emphasized that clothing should fit properly. "Most parents buy clothes that are too big, including backpacks and trousers. But an improper size can cause discomfort. Therefore, it is important to choose natural fabrics and buy clothing that fits properly. It is not worth saving on children's clothing," concluded the sanitary doctor.
