Due to the escalating tensions in the Middle East, the Mufti of Kyrgyzstan, Abdulahaziz Kary Zakirov, addressed the pilgrims who are currently in Saudi Arabia.

“The situation in the Middle East is currently extremely unstable, and flights organized for the sacred pilgrimage have been canceled. This has created force majeure circumstances,” he noted.

The Mufti urged compatriots who are now in Mecca and Medina for the lesser Umrah to be patient and follow the instructions of the companies and organizers. “Please remain calm and wait until the situation stabilizes and flights are resumed. During this time, we count on your prayers for peace around the world, the unity of the Muslim community, and the development of our country,” he added.

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan also strongly recommends that those planning to undertake the pilgrimage closely monitor the situation and make travel decisions only after it stabilizes.

Abdulahaziz Kary Zakirov noted that the authorities are taking all necessary measures to bring Kyrgyz citizens home.

The conflict between Israel and the U.S. against Iran began on February 28. As a result of numerous air and missile strikes on Iranian cities and military facilities, several high-ranking Iranian officials and military personnel were killed. In response to these attacks, Tehran targeted Israeli and American military bases located in various countries in the region. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the start of the military operation "Lion's Roar," making a statement that also claimed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed.
