In the Tyup district, a celebration was held for the 34th anniversary of the adoption of the state flag of Kyrgyzstan, established on March 3, as well as the Day of the Ak Kalpak, which is celebrated on March 5. This was reported by a correspondent from Turmush.

The solemn event began in the "Zhenish" park, where the parade with a procession was launched. As part of the program, the national anthem was played, and a flag-raising ceremony took place.

Among the participants were representatives of the Tyup district state administration, leaders of various institutions and enterprises, law enforcement officers, as well as residents of nearby villages.

The concert program was prepared by the district culture department.

Every year on March 5, the Day of the Ak Kalpak is celebrated in Kyrgyzstan in honor of this traditional headwear. The date was established by a decision of the Jogorku Kenesh on June 29, 2016, with the aim of preserving and respecting the significance of this symbol, supporting national traditions, and fostering a sense of pride in Kyrgyz culture among the people. The holiday was unofficially celebrated starting in 2011.

The state flag of the Kyrgyz Republic was approved by the Jogorku Kenesh on March 3, 1992, and its raising took place on March 5 at the building of the Government House. The authors of the flag are E. Aydarbekov, B. Zhaichibekov, S. Iptarov, Zh. Mataev, and M. Sydykov.

On December 22, 2023, President Sadyr Japarov signed the law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the State Symbols of the Kyrgyz Republic,'" which was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on December 20, 2023. This law aims to improve one of the main state symbols—the flag. According to it, the wavy rays of the sun on the flag have been replaced with straight ones.
