In 2026, the modernization of electrical networks will continue in Bishkek, during which the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic plans to install 278 new reinforced concrete poles to replace outdated wooden ones. This was reported by the Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise.

The wooden poles scheduled for replacement were installed back in the 1960s and 1970s and have already significantly exceeded their normative service life. Many of them are in emergency condition.

According to representatives of the enterprise, replacing wooden poles with reinforced concrete ones will significantly increase the reliability of electricity supply, reduce the number of emergency outages, and provide consumers with stable electricity.

The installation of new poles is planned in various areas of the electrical networks: 50 poles in the Eastern RES, 103 in the Western RES, and 125 in the Northern RES. All work on the installation of reinforced concrete poles is to be completed by the end of November 2026.

It is worth noting that in 2025, more than 671 reinforced concrete poles were already installed, which significantly improved the condition of the worn-out infrastructure and increased the reliability of electricity supply in several areas. These measures are a key step towards improving the resilience and efficiency of the capital's electricity supply system. The modernization of Bishkek's energy infrastructure will continue in the future.
