As part of an initiative aimed at improving urban infrastructure and sanitary conditions, a two-month campaign dedicated to landscaping, sanitation, and greening the capital has been announced in Bishkek. This decision was made by the city administration.
From March 14 to May 16, 2026, various activities will be implemented in Bishkek aimed at creating a more comfortable urban environment, improving the ecological situation, and restoring order. This was reported by the city administration.
Planned activities include sanitation work on streets, parks, and squares, as well as on courtyard territories. An important element of the program will be the planting of trees and shrubs, landscaping public spaces, and tidying up areas adjacent to enterprises and institutions.
Organizations and enterprises of all forms of ownership will be involved in these activities.
The heads of administrative districts, together with municipal territorial administrations, have been tasked with organizing and coordinating work on landscaping, greening, and sanitation. It is important to ensure interaction with property owners, homeowners' associations, and the population. Public organizations and business entities should also be engaged for effective work, timely removal of solid household waste, and prevention of unauthorized dumps. Monitoring the sanitary condition of territories, including markets, is also part of the responsibilities of local authorities.
According to paragraph 168 of the landscaping rules approved by the Bishkek City Council on August 29, 2025, all enterprises, institutions, and citizens are required to participate in sanitation and landscaping on the assigned and adjacent territories.
Thus, the announced two-month campaign will be an important step towards improving infrastructure, greening, and overall landscaping of the capital.
