The press secretary of the president, Askhat Alagozov, commented on the recent dismissal of Urmatbek Shamyrkanov from the position of Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
“Some may wonder: ‘Why was he removed from this position when only a few weeks have passed since his appointment? Doesn’t this indicate instability in personnel policy?’” he noted.
The reason for the dismissal was allegations of bribery related to his previous work as deputy minister.
According to the press secretary, in the summer of 2025, Urmatbek Shamyrkanov demanded a bribe for the promotion of one of the ministry's employees.
As Alagozov clarified, according to the employee's statement, he transferred half of the requested amount to Shamyrkanov's electronic wallet, who was then serving as deputy minister of emergency situations.

The head of state instructed the General Prosecutor's Office to conduct an investigation into the facts presented in the complaint.
The supervisory authorities confirmed the facts stated in the complaint.
As a result, President Sadyr Japarov decided to suspend Urmatbek Shamyrkanov from his position.
“This incident serves as a vivid reminder that ‘dirty deeds become apparent sooner or later.’
However, today we observe that such unlawful actions are revealed not after decades, but within just a few weeks.
This should serve as a serious warning to all civil servants.
If any illegal actions are discovered, the country's leadership will not turn a blind eye to this, even if the person has just been appointed to a high position, fearing for the reputation of the authorities.
As in this case, strict measures will be taken,” added the president's press secretary.
