Kanybek Apbasov, the akim of the Uzgen district, told Turmush in an interview that the process of demolishing large buildings is being delayed due to ongoing legal disputes.
According to him, the owners of cafes and pharmacies, who have legal rights to the property, refuse to vacate their plots. These entrepreneurs have filed lawsuits, citing significant investments made in their properties. “We are working on returning the land to state ownership through the courts. We are collecting archival documents, and the district prosecutor's office is preparing materials for filing lawsuits. At the same time, the owners of small retail outlets have already agreed to dismantle their properties,” Apbasov clarified.
Mirzokhid Mamatkasimov, the first deputy mayor of Uzgen, added that the properties that were on the balance sheet of the mayor's office have been demolished, and contracts with tenants have been canceled. The only exceptions are the plots for which citizens have "red books" (state land certificates).
Earlier, the mayor of Uzgen, Eldos Taev, reported that the total area of the hospital complex is 8 hectares; however, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, 2 hectares of this territory were privatized.
Despite the disputes over the land, the construction of a new multidisciplinary hospital is actively continuing.
Main project details:
- 1 billion 350 million soms has been allocated for construction;
- the hospital will have 390 beds;
- the building will be 4-5 stories high, in the shape of the letter "Ж";
- the contractor is the company "Kyrgyz Stroy Service";
- completion of construction and commissioning are scheduled for the end of 2026.
The new complex will also include a modern department for infectious diseases.
