Almambet Shykmamatov stated that during that period, the enterprise was under the control of special services, which made it impossible for tax authorities to conduct an audit.
The Head of the State Tax Service, Almambet Shykmamatov, commented on rumors of corruption in 'Kyrgyzneftegaz,' in which, according to an investigation, individuals close to the former Chairman of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, may have been involved. This was reported by 24.kg.
Shykmamatov noted that during the time Kamchybek Tashiev held a high position, the enterprise was controlled by special services, making audits by tax authorities impossible.
"It is important to understand: 'Kyrgyzneftegaz' was under the full control of the GKNB. Some of our tax officials fell into the trap of the GKNB and are still under arrest. Conducting an audit of 'Kyrgyzneftegaz' was impossible. However, now we have the opportunity — we conducted an audit and investigation. We had a choice: to disclose or conceal the results. We chose the former," said Almambet Shykmamatov.
He added that there were no formal prohibitions on audits, but there were unofficial directives in place. Everyone understood the potential consequences of such an audit, he emphasized.
Earlier, the Tax Service presented video materials for the investigation titled "Oil for Oneself: How Kyrgyzneftegaz Was Ruined," which contained data on possible illegal actions by company officials.
According to investigators' estimates, the damage amounts to 4.2 billion soms.
The materials also state that profitable processed products — diesel and fuel oil — were sold through a limited number of private companies, including firms linked to relatives of Kamchybek Tashiev, who, according to the investigation, resold diesel to state companies.
