Kyrgyzstan has recorded cases of forced sales of AI-80 gasoline and diesel fuel, which were not in demand in the domestic market. This was reported by Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy service of the President's Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He emphasized that although there is no demand for AI-80 gasoline and diesel fuel in the country, companies associated with the Tashiev family forced major oil traders to purchase this product. Under pressure, they mixed AI-80 and diesel with higher quality fuel coming from Russia and then sold it to the population. This process is known among oil traders as "shakarap".
"Since Kamchybek Tashiev left his position, the mentioned companies have stopped purchasing AI-80 gasoline and diesel fuel. As a result, large stocks of products have accumulated at the 'Kyrgyz Petroleum Company' warehouses," Orunbekov added.
In light of this situation, the government has decided on the temporary export of local fuel. Now AI-80 gasoline and diesel fuel produced by the 'Junda' and 'Kyrgyz Petroleum Company' plants will be supplied to Tajikistan and Afghanistan. However, the export of fuel that meets European standards and comes from Russia is not planned.
In addition, the state has begun modernization of the 'Kyrgyz Petroleum Company' plant. It is expected that the work will be completed within two years, and after modernization, the plant will be able to produce fuel that meets European standards, which will help satisfy the domestic needs of the country," noted the head of the information policy service.
