Will the 37-year-old MMA star be able to confirm his status after five years away from the octagon?
Conor McGregor, the Irish fighter and former UFC champion in both featherweight and lightweight divisions, is ready to step back into the ring. He announced his participation in UFC 330, which will take place in Las Vegas on July 11. After numerous scandals, legal battles, and a long hiatus due to missed drug tests, McGregor aims to dispel all doubts about his greatness.
The last fight we saw McGregor in was in July 2021, when he suffered a serious leg injury in a bout against Dustin Poirier. This incident raised doubts for many about whether he would ever return to professional sports. Currently, his career record stands at 22 wins, but six losses and a lengthy layoff cast doubt on his condition.
“The rumors are true! Mr. Confidence is back to put the sport back on track! Call your grandmother and tell her: ‘Grandma, we did it!’ Watch and pay me! Damn it, pay me! See you at the casino. I love you all, I have love for all of you. It’s a simple thing. For life and eternity — it’s McGregor! Hey, Paramount, see you soon!” he wrote on his social media account.
It is worth noting that on March 20, the 18-month suspension imposed on McGregor by the Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) committee expired in October 2025. The Irishman was suspended for three missed drug tests in 2024: June 13, September 19, and September 20.
Since he lost by technical knockout to American Justin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, McGregor has not stepped into the octagon.
