At a press conference at the "Kabar" agency, the director of the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing, Tynychbek Saidov, reported that alongside national driving licenses, international driving permits are available to citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
Saidov noted that these permits are created in strict accordance with the norms of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.
It is important to note that international driving permits can only be used in conjunction with a valid national driving license.
Tynychbek Saidov emphasized: "I recommend that citizens who plan to travel to countries that have not signed the Vienna Convention obtain an international driving permit. This will ensure the legality of driving abroad."Additionally, the head of the institution presented current data on the replacement of driving licenses in the country. Since the beginning of 2026, 380 thousand applications have already been submitted for the replacement of indefinite licenses of the old model for new ones.
