Anna Shcherbakova from Russia has been officially awarded the victory at the 2022 European Figure Skating Championships held in Tallinn, Estonia, according to a statement from the ISU press service.

This decision came as a result of the review of Kamila Valieva's case, who had previously been accused of violating anti-doping regulations. On October 8, 2025, the Swiss Federal Court rejected Valieva's request to review the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) from January 29, 2024.

As a result, the final standings of the 2022 European Championships are as follows:

1st place: Anna Shcherbakova (Russia)

2nd place: Alexandra Trusova (Russia)

3rd place: Luna Hendriks (Belarus)

The ISU noted that this process has been lengthy and complex for all participants, expressing gratitude for the patience, professionalism, and resilience of the athletes, adding that the figure skaters will now receive their well-deserved medals and official recognition.

Regarding Kamila Valieva's case:

In February 2022, the CAS rejected appeals from the IOC, WADA, and ISU concerning the decision of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) to lift Valieva's provisional suspension. A positive test for the banned substance trimetazidine, taken on December 25, 2021, led to a delay in awarding the Russian Olympic team.

Despite this, Valieva was able to compete in the individual events at the 2022 Olympics and finished in fourth place; however, her awards from the 2022 European Championships, the 2021-2023 Russian Championships, and others were subsequently annulled.
