Julia Simon wins her second Olympic gold after a theft conviction

At the competition, the 29-year-old athlete made only one mistake, allowing her to outpace her compatriot Lou Jeanmonnot, who won the silver medal. The bronze medal was awarded to Bulgarian biathlete Laura Christova.

This victory was particularly significant against the backdrop of recent events involving a suspended prison sentence and a fine imposed on Simon for stealing funds from her partner Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and a team staff member. Despite the temporary disqualification, she was able to recover quickly and return to the sport.

After the race, Simon noted that all conflicts within the team have been resolved, and she is now fully focused on her performances.
