Luke Littler has entered the history of world darts

Luke Littler, the British prodigy in the world of darts, has once again confirmed his status as a leader by winning the UK Open tournament. In the final, held at the Butlin's Minehead resort, he defeated the experienced James Wade with a score of 11:7, which earned him the grand prize of £120,000.

This victory allowed Littler to make history, becoming only the fourth player to successfully defend the title at the UK Open. Previously, this achievement was accomplished by Michael van Gerwen in 2015-2016.

The final match turned out to be quite tense. Wade managed to equalize the score at 7:7, coming back from an initial deficit. However, the key moment came in the 15th leg when Wade made a mistake on a bullseye throw, giving Littler the opportunity to close out the game with 116 points. He seized this chance and finished the match with a throw in the double 12 segment.

The path to the final was not easy for either player. Littler made an impressive comeback in the semifinals, defeating Josh Rock with a score of 11:9 after initially trailing 1:5. James Wade, on the other hand, overcame Gerwyn Price, winning 11:8 and showcasing excellent results with 11 maximums of 180 points and an average score of 105.53.

The UK Open tournament, known for its unpredictability and scale, gathered 160 participants this year and earned the nickname "The English Darts Cup." Despite the high level of competition, Littler managed to retain the title and confirm his dominance on the professional stage.
