"Manchester United" has unveiled an updated plan for the construction of a new stadium that will accommodate 100,000 spectators. The project, named Wembley of the North, will be fully funded by private financing.
The club emphasized that no public funds will be used for the construction of the arena. Although the club's co-owner Jim Ratcliffe had previously mentioned the possibility of seeking government support, the management has now confirmed that the project will be financed solely through private investments.
Nevertheless, "Manchester United" is counting on government assistance in improving the transportation infrastructure in the area of the new stadium. The club highlighted the importance of logistical improvements for the full operation of the arena and the development of the surrounding area.
The completion of the stadium's construction is scheduled for a period of four to five years after the start of work. However, preliminary stages, such as acquiring land plots, obtaining necessary permits, and attracting investments, may take an additional one to two years.
