He highlighted among the current projects the development of Chatkal Resort, which is planned to be located in the picturesque mountainous areas of the Chatkal district in the Jalal-Abad region. This project aims to create a year-round ski cluster, including lifts, cable cars, and recreational areas that will be accessible to both tourists and local residents.
In addition, Januzakov announced the launch of a state hotel classification system. This innovation involves the introduction of an official mechanism for assigning stars to hotels, which had not been practiced in Kyrgyzstan before.
He noted that this system is state-run. “The process of its implementation required significant efforts at the legislative level, including the adoption of necessary regulatory acts. Now we are at the stage of practical implementation. The Tourism Support and Development Fund acts as the secretariat and working body of this system, collaborating with the Department of Tourism and the Ministry of Economy,” the director of the Fund added.
