He noted that at the beginning of the year, the government planned to support 40 tourism initiatives; however, high interest from the regions allowed this list to be expanded to 62 projects. The tourism department, together with regional administrations, conducted an analysis of tourist facilities and held negotiations with potential investors. Most of the projects have already been successfully implemented, while the others are in the process of being prepared for opening by the end of the current year.
“Each of these facilities should contribute to the socio-economic development of local communities, job creation, and an increase in tax revenues,” he added.
Kasymov also emphasized that resolving border issues with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan has become one of the main factors contributing to the growth of cross-border tourism.
Additionally, the development of transport infrastructure, including the construction of an alternative North-South road, the opening of regional airports, and the implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, also helps attract tourists.
The country is actively harmonizing standards with neighboring states. Together with Kazakhstan, a unified hotel classification system is being developed, as well as professional standards for guides, housekeepers, and conductors.
According to Kasymov, the creation of a unified tourism brand for Central Asia is one of the main trends for the coming years.
“We must perceive each other as partners, not as competitors. This opens up significant opportunities for joint tourist routes and the creation of a unified visa zone,” he concluded.
