The contract was signed by Zharkynbek Maksutov, chairman of the board of OJSC "Ala-Tuu Resort," and Valery Yashin, head of the Doppelmayr division in Russia and the CIS.
According to a previous agreement signed last year, construction is currently underway on two main cable cars, which are planned to be put into operation in May of this year, as stated in the announcement.
Under the new contract, four more cable cars will be built in Jyrgalan by the end of this year. This will increase the total length of the cable lines to 8 kilometers, and the ski trails will reach 46 kilometers.
Stages of Resort Development
This year, in addition to installing new lifts, there are also plans to create a full-service complex on the mountain. The goal is for tourists to enjoy services comparable to the best ski resorts in the world by December.

Company representatives note that the equipment being installed is among the most modern in the industry. Doppelmayr implements projects in 96 countries, and the creation of such a large resort in Kyrgyzstan will be the company's first in the republic.

Construction Conditions in the Mountains
Despite the challenging climatic conditions and mountainous terrain, the contractor is confident in meeting the deadlines for the work. About 60% of the company's projects are implemented in high-altitude conditions. Doppelmayr has projects for the construction of lifts at altitudes of up to 4,000 meters above sea level.
The company also emphasizes its extensive experience working in winter conditions, including the laying of technological routes and the delivery of equipment to snow-covered areas. In Jyrgalan, construction is progressing at an intensive pace, and in some areas, work is ahead of schedule. The first lifts are expected to be put into operation by the end of May, and the completion of the first phase of the project is scheduled for December of this year.

At a press conference in Bishkek held on June 23, 2025, the director of GP "Ala-Tuu Resort," Zharkynbek Maksutov, spoke about the construction of the cable car at the top of Jyrgalan as part of the "Ala-Tuu Resort" project.
Maksutov reported that an agreement was signed with the Austrian company Doppelmayr at the beginning of 2025.
"This company is a leader in the production of cable car equipment, holding 62% of the global market in this field," he noted.
Maksutov also added that representatives of Doppelmayr are already conducting construction work in the Jyrgalan area.
