Today, February 18, 2026, the official opening of a new cable car took place in the Ala-Archa National Park, attended by President Sadyr Japarov.

In his address to the participants of the event, the president noted that in recent years the state has completely updated the park's infrastructure, thereby creating comfortable conditions for tourists.

He also spoke about the characteristics of the cable car, which has a length of 1 km and can transport up to 1,000 people per hour. This facility is intended for ascending to mountain peaks, catering to both local residents and foreign guests.

“The cable car was built by the Austrian company Doppelmayr. Currently, this company is also involved in the construction of cable cars as part of the Ala-Tuu Resort project in the Issyk-Kul region,” the president added.

Additionally, he shared plans for the second phase of infrastructure development, which includes extending the cable car by 12 km from the checkpoint to the hard-to-reach areas of the Ala-Archa National Park. The start of construction is scheduled for the end of March this year, with completion expected next year. This phase also includes plans for the construction of cottages, a toboggan run, and a five-star hotel with a swimming pool, with part of the facilities expected to be put into operation soon,” S. Japarov said.

The president also reported that the revenues of the Ala-Archa National Park increased from 29 million soms in 2020 to 262 million soms by the end of 2025, representing nearly a 9-10 fold growth.

As part of the digitalization of government institutions, the park has transitioned to a cashless payment system, allowing all payments to be made electronically. Further development of tourist infrastructure in other regions of the country is also planned in accordance with the strategy for the development of mountain tourism.
