Januzakov emphasized the importance of the economic aspect of developing the tourism sector. He noted that about 94% of Kyrgyzstan's territory is occupied by mountain ranges, and the government is taking steps to effectively utilize natural resources while also caring for their preservation and increasing tourist attractiveness.
According to him, the number of tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan continues to grow. Recent data shows that around 10 million tourists have already visited the country. This growth is confirmed by both official statistics and information from various sources.
An important factor contributing to the development of tourism, Januzakov mentioned, is the liberalization of the visa regime, which allows citizens from more than 60 countries to visit Kyrgyzstan without a visa. He also mentioned positive assessments of the dynamics of the tourism industry from internationally recognized publications such as Lonely Planet.
The head of the fund added that tourism occupies a solid place in the structure of the country's GDP, but the industry faces challenges for further development. In particular, there is a focus on creating a ski cluster and developing year-round tourism, taking into account the natural conditions that allow for hosting guests throughout the year.
