- The deadline for checking taxi drivers' licenses has been extended to February 1, 2026. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate for Road Traffic Safety (GUOBDD).

According to the agency, taxi drivers had previously complained about long queues when obtaining licenses at GUOBDD offices, which hindered them from processing their documents within the established time frames.

“Considering these complaints, today the head of the Main Directorate for Road Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel of Police Azenbek Kozukeiev, met with drivers on-site to discuss the licensing process. He instructed his subordinates to eliminate the long queues and improve conditions for drivers,” the press release states.

Azenbek Kozukeiev noted that to reduce waiting times, work will also be conducted on Saturdays, and the lunch break for employees will be shortened.

“The introduction of fines for the absence of licenses and the conduct of raids has been postponed until February 1, 2026. The activities of drivers using the taxi ordering program (Taxi Ordering Information System) will not be suspended until that date,” Kozukeiev added.

The issuance of licenses for taxis continues at all GUOBDD offices throughout the republic.
