At the session of the Collective Security Council of the CSTO in Bishkek, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to initiate a large-scale program that will provide the collective forces with modern samples of Russian military equipment and armaments that have proven themselves in real combat conditions.
In his speech, Putin emphasized that Russia will continue to actively cooperate with its allies to strengthen the military potential of the member states. "The main efforts will be directed at increasing the combat capability of national contingents and improving the management of collective forces," he noted.
The president stressed that within the framework of this strategy, a number of joint activities aimed at training military units and special forces are planned. He also noted that regular exercises will become an important part of this process.
"Particular attention will be paid to the development of air forces and air defense systems. We need to improve the mechanisms for the operation of peacekeeping forces. One of the key areas of our presidency will be deepening cooperation in the field of technological leadership of the CSTO, as well as close cooperation between defense industry enterprises," Putin added.
In addition, he mentioned Russia's readiness to support the implementation of the best achievements in military medicine for the collective forces.
