During the latest meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation, President Ilham Aliyev met with Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Bakyt Torobaev conveyed greetings from the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, and noted that the trust-based dialogue at the highest level has become the key to the successful development of bilateral relations in recent years.
In response, Ilham Aliyev sent his warm wishes to President Japarov and highly appreciated the progress in Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani relations.
The President emphasized that he pays great attention to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. He added that the agenda of the intergovernmental commission meeting, which will take place in Baku, highlights the parties' commitment to practical cooperation.
The significance of Azerbaijan's participation in the consultative meetings held between the heads of state of Central Asia was also emphasized.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that such meetings contribute to strengthening ties between Central Asia and the South Caucasus, as well as developing sustainable transport corridors and deepening economic and humanitarian relations.
Discussion of expanding investment cooperation also became an important part of the meeting. Participants reviewed the work of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund, which has already begun financing its first projects.
Ilham Aliyev assured that Azerbaijan is ready to continue supporting promising initiatives in Kyrgyzstan using the fund's resources.
At the conclusion of the meeting, prospects for deepening cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, logistics, mutual investments, education, humanitarian exchange, and agriculture were discussed.
