Bishkek and Moscow agreed to increase trade from $3.9 to $5 billion

At the 26th meeting of the intergovernmental commission of Kyrgyzstan and Russia on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and humanitarian cooperation, held in Bishkek, Adylbek Kasymaliev, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, and Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia, participated.

During the meeting, key aspects of cooperation in areas such as trade, industrial cooperation, logistics, energy, tourism, and humanitarian projects were discussed.

Kasymaliev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and Russia maintain "strategic partnership and a high level of political trust." He also noted that Russia accounts for 22% of Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade, and last year, the trade turnover reached $3.9 billion. The main goal of the parties is to increase this volume to $5 billion.

In addition, the head of the Cabinet reported on preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of Russia, who will participate in the meeting of the Collective Security Council of the CSTO in Bishkek.

Following the meeting, a protocol was signed containing agreements on further development of cooperation.
