The historical and local lore museum, located in the city of Manas in the Jalal-Abad region, has temporarily moved to a new administrative building, as its previous location has become unsafe for operation. This museum houses over 6,000 exhibits.

The museum director, Zhamiliya Temirova, reported that the old building at 1 T. Bayzakov Avenue has fallen into disrepair and needs to be closed. "After re-registration with the Ministry of Justice, we updated the charter, regulations, and the name of our institution. Considering that the old building is severely outdated, local authorities have allocated us temporary space in the new administrative building. We expect the construction of a modern two-story museum to be completed while we work here," she noted.

The city authorities reported that the old building at 1 T. Bayzakov Avenue will be demolished, and a park is planned to be created in its place, as the one-story building with five rooms no longer meets safety requirements.

The sketch of the new museum is already ready, work is underway to prepare the estimate, and a tender for construction will be announced soon.

The museum was founded on December 30, 1972, and in 1978 it became a branch of the Osh Regional Museum in Jalal-Abad. After gaining independence in 1991, it continued its activities as the Jalal-Abad Local Lore Museum. Currently, it employs seven staff members and is visited by more than 5,000 people annually.

The museum's exhibition includes household items of nomadic Kyrgyz, as well as equipment used during the Soviet period and products made by local artisans. One of the most valuable exhibits is the iron armor of a 3rd-century warrior, weighing up to 9 kilograms.
