The construction of this modern complex took two years, and its total area is 22,240 square meters. The building consists of 10 different blocks.
As the president noted, the establishment of an independent monetary and credit system was one of the first steps for Kyrgyzstan after gaining sovereignty in 1991.
The president added that now the regulator has the opportunity to store gold directly on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
“Previously, we faced difficulties in ensuring the storage of gold, as it was held in foreign financial institutions. Now the National Bank has its own vault that can accommodate up to 1,000 tons of gold,” Japarov stated.
According to him, this means that Kyrgyzstan will be able not only to store gold independently but also to offer such services to other states.
