REPORT OF THE PISHPEK CITY ELDER TO THE SEMIRECHEN REGION ADMINISTRATION ON THE EVENTS HELD TO IMPROVE CONDITIONS FOR THE PISHPEK MEN'S SCHOOL

Pishpek, February 14, 1896

In response to the proposal dated January 24 of this year No. 375, I have the honor to report to the regional administration that in execution of the personal order of His Excellency the Military Governor of the Semirechensk region, in October of the past 1895 year, the Pishpek City Men's School was moved to a city house, which was previously occupied by the District Chief. For the current number of students, the facilities in this house turned out to be quite sufficient, all wishing to enroll in the school were accepted; although further admission of students in this building will also be impossible, the City Administration intends to make an extension to it, during which the order regarding the arrangement of ventilation will be fulfilled. To maintain cleanliness in the market areas, it is proposed to hire a permanent worker. For the improvement of water supply and drainage of swamps on the northern side of the city, the City Administration requests a credit of 2000 rubles from the city funds.

As for the provision of the men's and military schools with educational materials, the City Administration will take this into account depending on the state of the city income.
