On October 25, the international arts competition "Star Time" took place in Almaty (Kazakhstan), in which the Karabalta ensemble "Elim" participated.

This was reported by Turmush correspondent.

The artistic director of the ensemble, El-Vahid Akhmedov, noted that the group stood out among the participants due to their thorough preparation. As a result of the competition program, the ensemble won the grand prize in the "Choreography" category, as well as became a first-degree laureate and received a cash certificate for 50,000 tenge. The main prize was the right to participate for free in the International Arts Festival, which will be held from January 10 to 15, 2026, in Bakuriani (Georgia).

According to Akhmedov, the ensemble "Elim" has only existed for 10 months, but their participation in Almaty was not their first. On June 28, 2025, the group performed at the international festival-competition "Scarlet Poppies," which traditionally takes place on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul at the cultural center "Rukh-Ordo." In 2025, representatives from six countries participated in the festival, and "Elim" became a second-degree laureate in the "Stylized Folk Dance" nomination, as well as a third-degree laureate in the "Folk Dance" nomination.

With the support of the City Palace of Culture named after V.I. Lenin, the ensemble "Elim" has allocated 15 budget places for free training of talented children, added E. Akhmedov.
