Graduated from Kirgosped Institute (1949), postgraduate studies at Moscow State University.
Worked as a literary scholar, teacher, senior lecturer, deputy dean, dean, associate professor, and professor at KSU; since 1987 - professor at BGU, chief researcher at the Research Institute of GNI at BGU.
Specialist in the field of Soviet literature (the works of V.V. Mayakovsky), Russian folklore, ancient Russian literature, Russian literature of the 18th century, and Manas studies.
Awarded orders of the Great Patriotic War, medals of the USSR and the Kyrgyz Republic, honorary diploma of the Kyrgyz Republic (1991).
Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Published over 200 scientific works, including 1 monograph and 3 textbooks.
