Storm Warning: Avalanche Risk and Icy Conditions Expected on Mountain Roads from March 2 to 5

From March 2 to 5, avalanches, snow drifts, snow cover, and ice are forecasted in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan due to changing weather conditions. 

According to information provided by Kyrgyzhydromet, avalanches may occur on the following sections of highways:

- 121-138 km of the Bishkek—Osh highway (Töö-Ashuu pass) and 198-265 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- 55-115 km of the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaikuu highway;

- 45-112 km of the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kyia highway (Chapchyma pass);

- 0-3 km of the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash highway;

- 292-305 km of the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart highway (Dolon pass);

- 201-205, 260-290, and 326-249 km of the Balıkchy—Kazarman—Jalal-Abad highway (Kok-Art pass);

- 45-90 km of the Karakol—Engilchek highway (Chong-Ashuu pass).

Drivers are advised to maintain a strict distance of 500 meters between vehicles when passing through areas prone to avalanche danger.
