Storm Warning: Snow Avalanches Expected in Mountain Areas Until March 5

From February 28 to March 5, heavy precipitation is expected in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan, which may lead to snow avalanches, snow drifts, the formation of snow cover, and ice.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, avalanches may occur on the following sections of roads:

- the section of the Bishkek—Osh road from 121 to 138 km (Töö-Ashuu pass) and from 198 to 265 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- the section of the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alayku road from 55 to 115 km;

- the section of the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya road from 45 to 112 km (Chapchyma pass);

- the section of the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash road from 0 to 3 km;

- the section of the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart road from 292 to 305 km (Dolon pass);

- the section of the Balikchy—Kazaraman—Jalal-Abad road from 201 to 205, 260 to 290, and 326 to 249 km (Kok-Art pass);

- the section of the Karakol—Enilchek road from 45 to 90 km (Chong-Ashuu pass).

When traveling through avalanche-prone areas, drivers must maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
