Storm Warning: Snow Avalanches and Icy Conditions Expected on February 21-22

According to data from Kyrgyzhydromet, unfavorable weather conditions are expected in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan from February 21 to 22, including the risk of avalanches, snow drifts, and ice.

Dangerous situations may arise on the following roads:

— Bishkek — Osh, sections from 121 to 138 km (Töö-Ashuu pass);

— Bishkek — Osh, sections from 198 to 265 km (Ala-Bel pass and Chychkan gorge);

— Myrza-Ake — Kara-Kulja — Alaykuu, sections from 55 to 115 km;

— Ala-Buka — Kanysh-Kyya, sections from 45 to 112 km (Chapchyma pass);

— Krasnaya Gorka — Akhtash, section 0–3 km;

— Sary-Tash — Daroot-Korgon — Karamyk, section 97–98 km;

— Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart, sections from 292 to 305 km (Dolon pass);

— Aral — Ming-Kush, sections from 1 to 14 km;

— Aral — Suusamyr, sections from 8 to 21 km;

— Balikchy — Kazarman — Jalal-Abad, sections 201–205 km, 260–290 km, and 326–349 km (Kök-Art pass);

— Karakol — Enilchek, sections from 45 to 90 km (Chon-Ashuu pass).

Drivers are strongly advised to exercise increased caution in avalanche-prone areas and maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.

Forecasters also recommend taking weather conditions into account when planning trips to mountainous areas.
